Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences

A technique described in earlier papers has been applied to the study of the nuclear processes which take place when nitrogen and argon are bombarded by 8 MeV deuterons. Angular distributions have been measured for the elastically scattered deuterons, for two groups of α-particles from the reaction 14N(d, α) 12C, for six groups of protons from the reaction 14N(d,p) 15N, and for three groups of protons from the reaction 40A (d, p) 41A. Some information about the spins and parities of the various energy states of the nuclei produced in the (d, p) reactions has been obtained from the results.
