Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London

Sir, The papers enclosed were the accounts of the earthquakes that were read at the meeting of the Society, and considering they give account of different earthquakes, or that they contain differing observations of the same earthquake; and that we cannot have too many of the phœnomena, or matters of fact accompanying them recorded, I think it will be best they be all preserved for future use, and I have sent the papers themselves, as most satisfactory.
